LPMI AD 2.22  Flight procedures

Within 15 NM information concerning aerodrome traffic and conditions should be requested.

Minimum altitude over the city of Mirandela 2500 FT AMSL and power bellow 75% of maximum continuous.

Visual approach RWY 35:

Right circuit (non pattern)

From south or west, turn directly to the final or base leg.

From east or north, turn directly to the entry point, altitude of 2500 FT.

Visual approach RWY 17:

Left circuit (pattern)

From north, turn directly to the final or base leg.

From south, east or west, turn directly to the entry point, altitude of 2500 FT.

Westerly winds can generate windshear and turbulence in the circuit due to a natural highpoint (serra dos Passos) and AD hangar.

Entry point:

Dam: 412830N 0071100W (2 NM east perpendicular to RCL).

Visual reference: dam bridge over Tua river (preferential holding point).

Circuit altitude:

Ultralight - 2000 FT AMSL (700 FT AGL)

Light aircraft - Standard

Engine testing:

To be performed 45° from THR RWY 17.

Take off:

After take off, at 5000 FT AMSL contact LISBOA INFORMATION FREQ 130.905 MHZ.

LPMI AD 2.23  Additional information

Windshear and turbulence: Significant increase of terrain elevation on the west side of the aerodrome. Westerly wind generates windshear and turbulence in the circuit, especially in RWY 17 final.

Aerodrome usage limitations:

Aerodrome qualified for daylight operations.

It shall only be allowed 3 aircraft simultaneously in the circuit.

Whenever possible contact the aerodrome before take off for coordination purposes.

Potentially dangerous activities:

ULM school

ULM training all days of the year, including weekends and public holidays, radius 10 NM up to 5000 FT.

Working areas are located north and east from the aerodrome, between 5 NM and 10 NM radius, from 3000 FT AMSL up to 5000 FT AMSL.

Paragliding

Paragliding all days of the year at serra dos Passos, west of aerodrome, GND/5000 FT AMSL. This activity is more intense on weekends and public holidays.
