1. INTRODUCTION
This AIP SUP refers to and complements AIP SUP 083/2024. This AIP SUP has an estimated duration of 4 months
2. PURPOSE
The purpose of this AIP Supplement is to inform operators about the construction work Phases 0, 1A, 1B and 2A and temporary closure, operational restrictions or limitations on aprons and taxiways.
3. CHANGES
Taxiway M1 and part of M2 will be renamed TWY R1, R2 and R3 (between intersection with A1/A2 and intersection with TWY Q1). Confirmation NOTAM will be issued. The current “TEMPORARY PARKING AREA 351”, will be closed and delimited with a fence to permit that works going inside do not interfere with aerodrome operations; Markings related to old infrastructure will be physically removed; All apron 10 stands will be temporarily replaced by 4 temporary parking positions, 001, 002, 003 and 004, according (4); Taxiway K closed; New temporary service road connecting East side and West side of the aerodrome, parallel TWY R; Deviation on TWY A1 centre line marking 2m to the west and downgrade to Code C. Centre line lights unavailable on deviation.

5. WORKS PROGRAMME
5.1 Schedule
Works will take place 7 days a week with the following schedule:
- Daytime: 07:00-19:00 (08:00-20:00)- Night: 23:00-04:00 (00:00-05:00)
5.2 Description of works
Phase start to be notified by NOTAM
Phase 0: Phase 0 lasts 2 months and essentially consists of preparatory work of the fuel hydrant network. Some fuel supply interruptions expected for apron 10 (definitive), 11 and 22, specifics issued by NOTAM and fuel servicing will be performed by truck. During this phase the current Taxiway M1 and part of M2 will be renamed TWY R1, R2 and R3 (between intersection with A1/A2 and intersection with TWY Q1).

Phase 1A/B: This phase includes day and night work and overlaps phase 0 on the 2nd month.
Along this phase the “TEMPORARY PARKING AREA 351” will be delimited with a fence.
The service road connecting the east and west side of the aerodrome will be deviated, parallel to TWY R1 and R2 (new), starting at south busgate, crossing TWY A1 to apron 22, with the appropriate STOP signage for vehicles at both ends. At this stage, apron 10 will be redesigned and the current stands 104, 105, 106 and 107 will be replaced by 4 temporary parking positions, and part of the TWY A1 centre line will be diverted approximately 2m to the West. TWY A1 centre line lights will be unavailable on deviated section.

Phase 2A: Phase 2A lasts 2 months. Execution of new M1 taxiway (inside the fence, doesn’t interfere with the maneuvering area)

The taxiway A1 centre line marking is still with a deviation of 2m to the west and downgrade to Code C.
In the deviated section centre line lights are unavailable. Aircraft entering and exiting apron 10 mandatory Follow me assistance.
On arrival aircraft shall wait on taxiway R1, T1 or A2 for follow me assistance.
On departure when ready for pushback and start a Follow me shall be called by TWR to assist and escort to exit taxiway A1. The pushback from temporary position 001 is made with follow me assistance, is a long push abeam stand 114, if RWY 02 in use, or to R1 if RWY 20 in use.
6. OPERATIONAL CONTRAINTS / GENERAL SAFETY PROCEDURES
a. Working areas marked and illuminated according to EASA requirements and ICAO Standards, as applicable.
b. All areas will be cleaned and inspected before passage of aircraft.c. Men and equipment under Tower Control and Airport Authority Supervision in areas opened to traffic. In the closed areas the works will be under Airport staff oversight.
d. Follow-me vehicle available on demand to escort aircraft. If deemed necessary Airport Authority will provide Follow-me.
e. Jet blast effects considered, depending on the Phase Schedule. Aircraft pilots should proceed as usual, unless Air Traffic Services request differently.
f. Communication between Air Traffic Services, Airport Authority and work Site Supervision always implemented, including works in closed areas.g. No obstacle limitation surfaces will be affected. Note: The above are general considerations. Specific procedures will be issued and notified if necessary.
7. PROCEDURES
Working areas and temporary hazards will be day and night signalized.
Mandatory guidance by Follow Me accessing and exiting apron 10.
If necessary, Follow me is available on request for guidance.
8. PRECAUTIONS
Pilots are advised to take note of the following precautions. Presence of temporary hazards on southbound TWY M1/M2, including:
a) Between 07:00 and 17:00 (08:00-18:00) mobile construction equipment and staff at more than 43.5m from TWY M1/M2 centerline.
b) Construction equipment and vehicles crossing the TWY to access the work areas.
c) Whenever in doubt about safety conditions, pilots should notify Air Traffic Services that will then coordinate action with Airport Authority.
d) Pilots shall proceed in accordance with the rules set for aircraft movement in taxiways.
e) During works degradation of visual aids may be expected. Therefore, operators shall adopt the operational safety procedures deemed necessary.
f) NOTAM will be issued to notify downgrading of visual aids affecting ground navigation including aerodrome ground lights, markings and signs.
9. IMPLEMENTATION
This AIP Supplement will be applicable during the whole of the works period. NOTAM will be issued notifying of any subsequent changes affecting aircraft operations.
This Supplement is valid from 31-OCT-2024 until estimated end date 28-FEB-2025.
