LPPT AD - VEHICLE SERVICE ROAD CONNECTION BETWEEN
APRON 12 AND APRON 60

1.  — INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this AIP Supplement is to inform operators of the activation at LPPT (Lisboa) of the vehicle service road connecting Apron 12 and Apron 60 through operational Taxiways (see Figure.1).

2.  — OPERATIONAL CHANGES

Vehicles crossing from Apron 12 to Apron 60 through Taxilane A3, abeam Stand 126, and through Taxiway Q2, abeam stand 600, will be using this vehicle service road.

The crossing of vehicles at Taxilane A3 and Taxiway Q2 is only allowed under NVO (Normal Visibility Conditions).

In LVO (Low Visibility Operations), Airport Authority will close this vehicle service road with barriers and red stop lights in all entries.

Airport Authority and Rescue and Fire Fighting vehicles operating at the Taxilane A3 and Taxiway Q2 have priority over other vehicles on this service road when signalling flashing lights.

It is mandatory for all vehicles and equipment to stop at the designated stop markings and check for incoming traffic. Vehicles shall NOT ENTER when aircraft, Airport Authority vehicles or Rescue and Fire Fighting vehicles are approaching at a distance of less than 200M.

Drivers are responsible for maintaining separation in order to avoid collisions or near miss occurrences.

3.  — LAYOUT CHANGES

Taxiway T2 closed, to be used as vehicle holding bay.

In LVO (Low Visibility Operations), Airport authority will close this vehicle service road and reopen taxiway T2.

Vehicle service road sections designed abeam Stand 126 will cross Taxilane A3 perpendicularly, abeam Stand 600 will cross Taxiway Q2 perpendicularly.

The entry point to Apron 12 is made along the vehicle service road adjacent to Parking Position 125.

On-pavement vehicle control traffic lights are implemented (red stop bar lights, for ground vehicles), activated by aircraft transponder signals.

When the service road is active and no transponder signal is received, vehicle control traffic lights will display flashing yellow lights near the crossings.

4.  — LOW VISIBILITY OPERATIONS (LVO)

To enter LVO, the vehicle service road must be closed and taxiway T2 reopened. The closure is signalled with barriers and red stop lights in all entries.

5.  — CHANGES ANNOUNCEMENT

During the validity period of this AIP Supplement, all operational and structural changes, even if temporary, will be announced by NOTAM.

6.  — VALIDITY

From 11-JUL-2024 until estimated end date 31-OCT-2024 and replaces NOTAM A1528/24.
