1. As part of the Eastern North Atlantic International Project, atmospheric research unmanned balloon flights will be launched daily from the Graciosa Island Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) facility, located at position 390528N0280134W.
2. The launch is schedule twice a day at 11:30 and 23:30 UTC, with a time buffer of plus 30 minutes to accommodate any failures that might cause a delay.
3. The total payload of the balloon is about 300 grams, being classified as light in accordance with ICAO annex 2, appendix 5, number 1.
4. The balloons are expected to climb 5 to 6 meters per second and reach up to 26 KM high within 120 minutes, after flight termination the descend rate is estimated to be about 10 meters per second.
5. The trajectory of each balloon will depend on the meteorological and atmospheric conditions at the launch time and the termination of the flight may occur at a significant distance from the launching position.
6. Periods of activity: Daily 11:30-15:00 and 23:30-03:00
7. Validity: from 13-SEP-2018 Until Further Notice.
8. This Supplement replaces AIP SUP 018/2016.
